Man Shoots WhatsApp Group Admin After Being Removed from Chat

A Pakistani man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting the administrator of a community WhatsApp group who had removed him from the chat, police reported on Saturday.
The victim, Mushtaq Ahmed, was shot dead on Thursday evening in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province known for its history of sectarian violence.

According to police records and a statement from Mushtaq’s brother, the suspect, identified only as Ashfaq, was removed from the WhatsApp group following an argument. The two had arranged to meet for reconciliation, but Ashfaq allegedly arrived armed and opened fire, killing Mushtaq.
The incident underscores the dangers of firearm availability, deep-rooted tribal customs, and weak law enforcement, which contribute to frequent violent disputes in the region.
