Marriage offers no guarantee against divorce – Kaffy

Renowned dance icon, Kaffy, has opened up about her divorce, life as a single mother of two, and the stigma often faced by divorced women.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, she challenged societal expectations that only “fresh” unmarried individuals are ideal for marriage, stressing that over 70 percent of marriages collapse regardless of a person’s previous marital status.

Kaffy argued that divorce does not diminish a woman’s value or her capacity to love, especially after healing and personal growth. She maintained that a divorced woman could, in fact, be a better partner if she has worked on herself.

“What makes you think a divorced woman isn’t even a better candidate for marriage if she has improved herself? What’s the guarantee that two single people today won’t end up divorced tomorrow? Why do people feel like they must marry someone ‘fresh’? You’re both entering the same statistics, where over 70 percent of marriages fail,” she said.

The mother of two also sought to correct misconceptions about romance, explaining that the “butterflies” people often associate with love are sometimes trauma responses, while genuine love is marked by peace.

“A lot of butterflies in the tummy are trauma responses. Real love brings peace,” she noted.
