Mass comm department receives full accreditation

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has achieved full accreditation for its Mass Communication Department from the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

This significant milestone empowers the department to train and graduate advertising professionals in Nigeria. The accreditation is valid for five years, expiring in January 2030.

Professor Olumuyiwa Olamade, Dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences (CASS) of the Lagos State University described this development as a major accomplishment for the university. He expressed heartfelt congratulations to the Mass Communication Department and acknowledged the Vice-Chancellor’s efforts in meeting the accreditation criteria, which led to this important recognition.

The accreditation came after an evaluation conducted by ARCON in January 2025, which affirmed that LASUSTECH’s Mass Communication Department meets the requisite standards for delivering quality education in advertising.
