Traders at the bustling Alesinloye Market in Ibadan Southwest Local Government Area suffered heavy losses after a devastating fire broke out early Wednesday morning. Goods worth millions of naira were destroyed, leaving traders and residents in shock.
Eyewitnesses reported that the inferno caused widespread panic, with many struggling to salvage their belongings. Fortunately, the swift response from the Oyo State Fire Service, supported by firefighting teams from SUMAl and Sweetco companies, helped prevent the fire from spreading further.

A source at the scene noted that the situation could have been minimized if the market had a fire station within its premises.
