Minimum Wage- Taraba State Approves N70,000 Ahead Of NLC strike

The Taraba State government has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for its workers ahead of the December 1 strike notice issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to states that are yet to implement the updated national minimum wage.

Paul Maigida Tino, the state Head of Service, in a statement confirmed that the new minimum wage would be effective from this month, November 2024.

Tino noted that the government’s is committed to support its workers’ welfare and aspirations.

“I wish to inform you that His Excellency, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the implementation of a N70,000 new minimum wage for workers in Taraba State, effective from November 2024, in line with his administration’s dedication to meeting the yearnings and aspirations of workers,” Tino stated.
