Nigerian actress Mo Bimpe has penned a heartfelt tribute to her colleague and longtime friend, Ibrahim Yekini Bakare, popularly known as Itele D Icon.
In an Instagram post, she praised Itele for his exceptional performance as Salako, a loyal Egba farmer, in the movie Lisabi. Describing his portrayal as “beyond applaudable,” Mo Bimpe commended his dedication, hard work, and multifaceted contributions to the project.
She revealed that Itele, who arrived at the training camp ahead of her and her husband, remained committed throughout the 40-day production period. Apart from acting, he played significant roles behind the scenes, including training coordination, dialogue coaching, and costuming.
Expressing her gratitude, she noted Itele’s unwavering support during challenging moments on set, including helping her master the Egba language and offering emotional support.
Mo Bimpe described Itele as her “first friend in the industry” and a “bestie,” highlighting the importance of surrounding oneself with genuine and like-minded individuals.
