Mother, Two Children and Grandson Crushed to Death in Building Collapse
A woman and three members of her family have died after a building collapse in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The victims, identified as Mallama Habiba Nuhu, her two children and a grandson, lost their lives when a neighbour’s mud wall collapsed on their room in Karauka, Zaria city, in the early hours of Wednesday.
Mallam Ahmed Ibrahim, a relative of the deceased, narrated the incident:
“The incident occurred between 3.30am and 4am on Wednesday when a neighbour’s house mud wall collapsed on the deceased room.
Mallam Nuhu Dogara who is the husband and father to the deceased was however recovered alive and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
He was later discharged shortly before the funeral prayer of the deceased.

The collapse was caused by ceaseless rainfall recorded in Zaria. And the victims died on the spot, because they were covered by rubbles.”
The children and grandchild were named as Hauwa’u Nuhu, Aina’u Nuhu and Za’uma.
Bello Garba, Zone 1 Coordinator of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), said he had not yet received official information about the incident but promised to follow up for immediate assessment.
The victims have since been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
