Mystery in Nasarawa: Two Young Sisters Found Abandoned, Police Seek Public Help

The Nasarawa State Police Command has called on the public to help identify and reunite two young girls who were found abandoned near Mararaba Junction in Karu Local Government Area.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, a resident of Ungwan Gwandara discovered the children on March 12, 2025, around 5:00 PM and immediately reported the case to the authorities.

Police officers promptly responded to the report, safely recovering the children and taking them to the Mararaba ‘B’ Division for care.
The girls, identified as 10-year-old Fatima Isah and 8-year-old Halima Isah, informed officers that they had been taken from Kasuwan Bera in Jalingo, Taraba State, by an unknown driver and were later abandoned in Mararaba.
Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has urged anyone with relevant information about the children, their families, or the circumstances of their journey to come forward.

Nansel assured that all information shared will be kept strictly confidential. He also confirmed that investigations are ongoing to trace the children’s families and determine how they were transported and left behind.
