NANS President Accuses Seyi Tinubu of N100 Million Bribe Offer, Alleged Abduction and Assault

Comrade Lucky Emonefe, has made serious allegations against Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming he was offered a bribe of N100 million to influence student leadership

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Lucky Emonefe, has made serious allegations against Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming he was offered a bribe of N100 million to influence student leadership positions and was later abducted, assaulted, and stripped naked when he refused.

Speaking in a press briefing on Thursday, Emonefe alleged that the bribe was offered to him as a means to compromise his integrity and coerce him into supporting certain political interests within the student union. According to him, upon his refusal to accept the money or align with the demands, he was targeted in what he described as a coordinated attack aimed at silencing him.

“I was approached with an offer of N100 million to sell out the interest of Nigerian students and the independence of our association. I rejected it outright,” Emonefe said. “Not long after that, I was abducted by unknown men, who I have every reason to believe are linked to powerful individuals. I was brutally beaten, stripped naked, and humiliated.”

Emonefe, visibly shaken as he recounted his ordeal, stated that the attack was not only a personal violation but an assault on the autonomy and freedom of Nigerian students. He further noted that such actions, if not addressed, could set a dangerous precedent in Nigerian politics where student bodies are manipulated through fear and inducement.

NANS has called for an independent investigation into the matter and has urged security agencies to ensure justice is served. The association also demanded that the federal government issue a public statement addressing the allegations and ensure the protection of student leaders across the country.

As of press time, there has been no official response from Seyi Tinubu or the presidency regarding the allegations. The silence from key government figures has further fueled concerns among civil society groups, who have joined the call for transparency and accountability.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians demanding an immediate probe and expressing worry over the increasing politicization and endangerment of student activism in the country.
