“National Security Adviser Declares Zero Tolerance for Violence in Plateau, Vows Immediate Action to End Killings”

Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has visited Plateau State to address the ongoing wave of violence that has claimed hundreds of lives and displaced many residents in recent months

In a bold and reassuring move, Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has visited Plateau State to address the ongoing wave of violence that has claimed hundreds of lives and displaced many residents in recent months. Speaking during his visit, Ribadu stated emphatically that the government has reached a turning point and will no longer tolerate the senseless bloodshed, declaring, “Enough is enough.”

Ribadu’s visit follows a string of deadly attacks across various communities in Plateau State, where clashes between armed groups and civilians have intensified, leaving behind a trail of destruction, grief, and growing insecurity. The NSA met with state officials, traditional leaders, and security operatives to discuss coordinated strategies aimed at restoring peace and ensuring justice for victims.

“We cannot continue to lose innocent lives. This is a nation governed by law and order, and we are committed to defending every citizen’s right to live in peace,” Ribadu affirmed during a security stakeholders’ meeting in Jos, the state capital.

He disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed all relevant security agencies to act decisively, collaborate across departments, and increase surveillance and intelligence gathering to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region. Ribadu also assured that perpetrators of the attacks would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted without delay.

The NSA’s presence in Plateau was seen as a morale boost for affected communities, many of whom have long lamented the lack of timely government intervention. Community leaders expressed cautious optimism, urging the federal government to follow through on its promises and to prioritize long-term solutions, including addressing land disputes, poverty, and youth unemployment which often fuel the unrest.

As military presence increases and investigations commence, the nation watches closely, hopeful that the federal government’s renewed stance on security in Plateau will translate into lasting peace and stability for the region.
