Army, NFSS Rescue 17 Passengers Kidnapped on Lokoja–Obajana Road
Seventeen kidnapped passengers have regained freedom after the swift intervention of the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS) along the Lokoja–Obajana road in Kogi State.
The victims, who were traveling from Ilesha, Osun State, to Abuja, were ambushed by gunmen and taken into the forest on Thursday. Acting promptly, the Army, in collaboration with NFSS, pursued the abductors and successfully rescued all passengers.
The survivors, now receiving medical attention, expressed gratitude for the gallant operation. One of them, who spoke anonymously, urged the government to strengthen the NFSS with legal backing and resources, stressing that their role in forest security is vital.
