NDLEA nabs 29-year-old with 7,000 Tramadol capsules in Kano

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State has arrested a 29-year-old man found in possession of 7,000 suspected Tramadol capsules.
The agency’s spokesperson, Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Monday, saying the suspect was apprehended on Saturday by operatives of the Kiru Area Command along the Zaria-Kano Road, Kwanar Dangora axis, while transporting the drugs from Lagos.
According to him, the substances, weighing 4.1 kilograms, were hidden inside a 20-litre jerrycan of oil. He described the interception as a significant breakthrough in the state’s fight against drug abuse, commending the professionalism of the officers who uncovered the concealment.
Quoting the state Commander, Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, Muhammad-Maigatari noted that the agency remains steadfast in its efforts to dismantle drug supply networks and safeguard communities.

Idris-Ahmad further applauded the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, retired Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba-Marwa, for his support, while reiterating the command’s determination to eliminate the circulation of illicit substances in Kano with the cooperation of the public.
