Nigeria Authorizes Four Airlines for 2025 Hajj Pilgrimage Operations

The Federal Government of Nigeria has granted approval to four airlines to facilitate the transportation of pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage. This decision aims to ensure efficient and seamless travel for the thousands of Nigerian Muslims who will embark on the sacred journey to Saudi Arabia.

The approved airlines include Max Air, Azman Air, Flynas, and Med-View Airlines. These carriers were carefully selected after meeting the stringent requirements set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The commission emphasized that the airlines were chosen based on their operational capacity, safety records, and ability to handle the logistics of transporting pilgrims to the holy sites in Mecca and Medina.

According to NAHCON, the selected airlines will work closely with state Muslim pilgrim welfare boards to coordinate schedules, ensure timely departures, and provide the necessary support for pilgrims during the journey. The arrangement is part of a broader effort to improve the overall experience for Nigerian pilgrims by addressing past challenges such as flight delays, poor services, and inadequate capacity.

In a statement, NAHCON Chairman Zikrullah Hassan assured the public of the commission’s commitment to delivering an improved Hajj experience. He highlighted that the early approval of airlines would allow for better planning and coordination among stakeholders. “We are determined to ensure that Nigerian pilgrims have a seamless experience, from the time of departure to their return,” Hassan stated.

The government has also urged the airlines to adhere strictly to the agreed terms and conditions, including the provision of quality services and compliance with international aviation safety standards. Additionally, NAHCON advised prospective pilgrims to begin their preparations early and follow the guidelines provided by their respective state boards to avoid last-minute challenges.

The 2025 Hajj pilgrimage is expected to witness a significant turnout of Nigerian Muslims, and the government’s proactive measures are seen as a step in the right direction to enhance the spiritual journey for pilgrims.

With these arrangements in place, the selected airlines are now tasked with ensuring the highest level of professionalism and service delivery to meet the expectations of the pilgrims and the commission.
