Nigeria Immigration Headquarters, Shut down Service Following Tinubu’s Building Commissioning

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a temporary shutdown of its headquarters in Sauka, Abuja. The shutdown is due to the commissioning of the NIS Technology Complex by President Bola Tinubu. According to a statement released on Monday by DCI KT Udo, the NIS Public Relations Officer, the headquarters will be closed on Tuesday. However, the online portal will remain operational during this time.

Udo said, “The Nigeria Immigration Service wishes to inform the General Public that all services at the NIS Headquarters, Sauka, Abuja, will be temporarily unavailable on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024, due to the Presidential Commissioning of the TECHNOLOGY COMPLEX in the Service Headquarters.

“During this period, the following services will be affected in the NIS Service Headquarters: Passport Issuance and Renewals (Biometric Capturing); other related Immigration Services and Banking Services within the SHQ.

“All applicants and members of the public are advised to make necessary arrangements to visit the NIS Headquarters after the said date. The NIS online portal will remain operational to serve your needs.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary shutdown may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”
