Police launch manhunt over viral Lagos eatery ritual claim

The Lagos State Police Command has begun a manhunt for an unidentified woman who, in a viral video, alleged that ritual killings and the sale of human parts were taking place at Thirty 8 Restaurant on Airport Road, Lagos.
In the clip, the woman claimed she was once locked inside the restaurant’s restroom during a visit. Driving past the premises, she described it as a “dungeon,” alleging that “a lot of people are killed there and their parts are sold.”
Reacting, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, dismissed the claims as false and capable of inciting panic.
He said Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh had ordered a thorough investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department, which found nothing incriminating at the restaurant.
“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to categorically refute the viral video alleging ritual killings and sale of human parts at Thirty 8 Restaurant. The investigation has established that the claims are baseless and untrue,” the statement read.
Hundeyin said efforts were underway to track down the woman behind the video and other persons responsible for spreading such “malicious” content. He urged the public to disregard the allegations and verify information before sharing it online.
