Nigerian Crossdresser Bobrisky Reportedly Arrested at Seme Border While Attempting to Flee to Benin Republic After House of Reps Summons

Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okunleye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was reportedly arrested on Monday morning while attempting to flee to the Benin Republic. The arrest follows a viral social media voice recording in which Bobrisky allegedly confessed to paying N15 million to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him.
The recording has sparked public outrage and raised concerns about the integrity of the EFCC. These allegations come after Bobrisky, who was sentenced to six months in prison earlier this year for currency abuse, claimed that he served his sentence in a VIP facility, further fueling suspicions of corruption within the agency.
In response to the controversy, EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale announced that the agency’s chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, had ordered an internal investigation into the matter. Both Bobrisky and another individual, identified as VeryDarkMan, have been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate to assist in the ongoing inquiry.
