
A newborn baby has been neglected on Monday morning at Jogana Special Primary School, Kano. At the time the child was seen, the news caused so many reactions among the people of the community.
FCNN gathered that the baby was between 3 to 4 days old.The child was said to have been discovered by a passerby who noticed a group of school teachers gathered at the school. Upon closer inspection, the resident was shocked to find the newborn left unattended within the school compound.
According to eyewitnesses,the baby had not yet been cleaned, and they speculated that the child was neglected few minutes after birth.

One of the teachers who witnessed the scene expressed deep sorrow and concern over the condition in which the baby was found. Thankfully, the baby was alive and appeared to be in stable health. He was promptly handed over to the appropriate child welfare authorities in Jogana for immediate care and protection.
Community leaders and others dwellers of the community advised the mother to come forward, stressing the innocence of the child and advised her to act with compassion and accountability.
“This baby has done nothing wrong. We are appealing to the mother to please, fear God and do the right thing,” said one concerned resident.
Authorities have since launched a formal investigation into the incident. Child protection services are actively involved, and the safety and wellbeing of the child are being prioritized.
