NYSC Corps Member Welcomes Baby Boy During Orientation Camp in Kwara

In a heartwarming turn of events, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Ijaseun Omotosho Bukola (KW/25A/0251), gave birth to a healthy baby boy during the ongoing 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Orientation Course in Kwara State.

The delivery took place in the early hours of Thursday, April 24, 2025. Labour reportedly began around midnight at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area. She was swiftly transported to Share General Hospital, where she delivered her baby safely under the expert care of a medical consultant deployed from the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).

Both the mother and child are said to be in excellent health.

The NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, expressed his gratitude for the successful delivery and commended the swift action of the camp clinic team and UITH medical staff.

In his words:

“We are grateful to Almighty God for the safe delivery. I also appreciate the camp clinic committee and the UITH medical team for their professionalism and quick response.”

Meanwhile, the Kwara NYSC Orientation Camp also kicked off its first official morning meditation session for the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members on the same day. The exercise, aimed at fostering mindfulness and discipline, was followed by an inspiring address from the Camp Director.

He reminded the corps members of the importance of discipline, patriotism and full participation in camp activities.

“The orientation camp is a critical foundation for your service year. Your attitude, participation and willingness to learn will shape your entire NYSC experience,” he stated.

The day continued with corps members proceeding to the parade ground to begin their morning drills, officially marking the start of camp activities.
