Nigerian TikToker Peller Reportedly Arrested After Disturbing Incident
Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has reportedly been arrested by the police following a disturbing incident linked to emotional distress after a breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis.
The development was disclosed on Monday by social media influencer Tunde Perry, who said the 20-year-old creator is currently being held at a police station. Perry appealed to the public to show compassion toward Peller, urging Nigerians to prioritise support over condemnation at a time he described as critical for the young influencer’s well-being.
“Please let us all take it easy with Peller. He has been arrested and he is currently at the police station. We know what he did was bad and we have corrected him. Please, he needs our support and encouragement now. Let us forgive him.”
Peller’s situation has attracted heightened public concern, coming shortly after he was involved in a serious car crash that made headlines and raised questions about his mental and emotional state. Reports indicate that the incident occurred along the Lekki Expressway, after which he was hospitalised.
The Federal Road Safety Corps, reacting to videos that circulated online in connection with the incident, stated that it would prosecute the TikToker, citing violations of traffic and safety regulations.
Since news of his arrest broke, social media has been flooded with mixed reactions. While some users called for empathy and understanding, others criticised Peller’s actions and argued that the law should take its course.

The incident has also reignited conversations about mental health awareness, the pressures of online fame, and how authorities respond to public figures in distress.
Meanwhile, Jarvis has denied allegations that she cheated on Peller, dismissing claims that surfaced amid the controversy. Speaking during a live session with fans, she maintained that she remained faithful throughout their relationship and expressed frustration over the rumours.
As of the time of reporting, police authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the arrest or clarify the charges, if any, against the TikTok star.
