NSCDC Arrests 8 Suspects for Vandalizing Public Infrastructure in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested eight individuals suspected of vandalizing public infrastructure in Abuja.
The arrests were made as part of an ongoing operation to combat vandalism in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Commandant Olusola Odumosu led the operation.
Four suspects were arrested on Saturday at 2:10 am in Idu Layout CITEC. They were found with vandalized solar panel poles. The suspects are Sani Garba, Umar Aminu, Adekunle Oluwatoyin Eniola, and Emmanuel John.
Another four suspects were arrested on Sunday at 1:30 am along the Bannex-Gishiri axis. They were caught transporting five vandalized street light poles. The suspects are Hosea Christopher, Ali Musa, John Sylvester, and Idris Suleiman.
The recovered items include:
– Five large street light poles
– One solar panel pole
– Over 40 iron rods
Commandant Odumosu expressed concern over the increasing destruction of public infrastructure. He warned vandals to leave the area, stating, “We will not allow the efforts of the Hon Minister of FCT in infrastructural development to be sabotaged.”
The suspects are currently under investigation and will face legal charges once the investigation is completed.
