NYSC Calls for Renovation of Damaged Katsina Male Hotels

Ibrahim Saidu, the Katsina State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has reenacted his call for the state government to renovate the damaged male hotels in the camp.
The state coordinator made the appeal on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream I corps members deployed in the state.
Saidu noted that due to the climbing populations of corps members deployed in the state annually, there is also an urgent need for additional hostels and administrative block for camp officials and security agencies.
He emphasizes that “In some cases, corps members stay under the sun during lectures and other social activities”, due to lack of adequate tents and other makeshift shelters.
“Sir (Governor Dikko Umaru Radda), due to the ever-increasing corps populations deployed to Katsina State every service year, there is dire need for additional hostel blocks for camp officials, as well as the construction of an administrative block.
“The administrative block will house the office of the camp commandant, head of police and other collaborating agencies during the orientation course programme,” Saidu said.
He added that: “The renovation of male hostels in the camp is equally long overdue. In some cases your excellency, corps members stay under the sun during lectures and other social activities.”
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda who was represented by the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Aliyu Lawal Zakari, in his remarks, admonished that over 1,000 corps members deployed in the state to neglect political and religious intolerance during and after their service year.
