Official: Chippa United terminates Super Eagles goalkeeper’s contract

The Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has terminated his contract with South African side Chippa United.

The goalkeeper joined the South African club in 2022, having left the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side Katsina United.

‎Following several impressive performances, he became the club’s primary starting player at the start of the 2023/24 season.

His impressive performances earned him his debut call-up to the Nigeria national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a tournament where he ultimately rose to national hero status.

Nwabali leaves Chippa
After three-plus years at Chippa, Nwabali has decided to end his contract with his club and he is currently a free agent.

Chippa Utd have confirmed that the Super Eagles goalkeeper, Nwabali has formally submitted a request to depart club.

The reason for the goalkeeper’s decision remains undisclosed, and his next move is yet to be determined.

In other news, Nwabali, who is now a free agent, has been linked wit a potential move to Tanzania and may be considering the opportunity.
