Ogun Housewife, Sons Arrested for Tying Up Retired Husband Over Retirement Benefits

Victim Found Bound and Gagged as Neighbors Uncover Shocking Family Conspiracy
A housewife and her four university-educated sons have been arrested in Oko-Filling, Araromi, Ijoko, Sango Ota, Ogun State, for allegedly tying up and attempting to harm her husband, a retired civil servant, in a dispute over his retirement benefits.
The elderly man was discovered in the early hours of Thursday, March 13, bound and gagged inside his home. Concerned neighbors, alerted by unusual noises and suspicious activity, broke into the house and found him restrained, reportedly left for dead.
A local landlord who witnessed the shocking scene described it: “He was tied up like an animal about to be slaughtered. The wife and sons hired about six men to do it.”
According to reports, the retired man had already allocated part of his retirement money—giving his wife N3 million to establish two shops and purchasing a N12 million car for himself. However, his wife and children were allegedly dissatisfied and demanded more.

On the night of the incident, neighbors noticed a small bus (Korope) outside the house, with the wife and sons loading property into it. When questioned about the man’s whereabouts, their response raised suspicion, prompting the residents to force their way in. They found him completely bound, with the hired men still inside, as though waiting to harm him further.
The victim was immediately untied and rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. All suspects, including the hired men, were taken into police custody. One of them reportedly confessed that the wife had contracted them for the act.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
