Ondo North Senator Jide provides free eye surgery for 6,000 constituents

 

Ondo North Senator Jide Ipinsagba has provided free eye glasses and surgery to 6,000 persons.

The Beneficiaries were also educated on eye health and preventive care to enable them have a better understanding of how to maintain eye health.

Medical outreach were held simultaneously at Owo General Hospital, Oka-Akoko, and Ikare-Akoko State Specialist Hospitals to show Ipinsagba commitment in providing quality healthcare for the people.

Ipinsagba was represented by a former lawmaker in the Ondo Assembly, Hon Olusola Aladetimehin.

Ondo North Senator Jide noted that the move was in line with his electioneering promises to ensuring his constituents get dividends of democratic governance.

“Under my representation, Ondo North Senatorial District will not be left out of enjoying dividends of democracy. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our hospitals are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and that our medical personnel receive the training and support they need to excel in their work”.

Omole Kayode, a resident who benefited from the programme said he has suffered visual impairment for many years.

He added that it was a life-changing experience for him.

“I have struggled with cataracts for years, and surgery was too expensive for me,” said one beneficiary. “Today, I can see clearly again, and I am beyond grateful,” he said.

Dr. Umar Ahmed, head of the medical team, said highly skilled medical professionals were assembled to providing top-notch care to the patients.

According to him, medical services such as Opthalmological services, eye surgeries with treatment and supplies of free drugs and reading glasses were provided.

“We recognize that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and we are committed to making it a reality for all our citizens.” he said.
