DG NYSC Speaks on New Monthly Allowance

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, announced on Thursday, March 20, 2025, that all corps members will receive a significant increase in their monthly allowance, commencing March 2025.
The allowance will be credited to accounts with effect from March and will increase to Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira. This reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the well-being of corps members by 40%, aligning with national development goals and recognizes the important role NYSC plays in contributing to national development, fostering civic engagement, and exposing graduates to diverse cultural experiences.

Speaking with corps members at Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja, General Nafiu underscored the importance of their service and dedication. ‘NYSC is a beautiful program,’ he stated, ‘building bridges between graduate youths and the communities where they serve.’
A corp member,Zaka Deborah Alheri FC/24A/5831, speaking on behalf of her colleagues at Garki Zone, expressed gratitude for the increase.
