55 Year Old Sets Wife Ablaze In Ogun

A 55 Years Old man known as Olubunmi Johnson, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly setting his wife, Kikelomo, on fire in their apartment on Fagbuyi Street, Ilogbo, in the Ota area of Ogun State.

FCNN learnt from an eyewitness on Saturday evening that the incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, following a domestic argument.

However the main circumstances leading to the confrontation is still unclear at the time of this report.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the state police command, told our correspondent that Johnson has been detained in connection with the crime.

A neighbour who witnessed the incident alerted the victim’s relatives, who then informed the police about what is now being investigated as an attempted murder.

The police spokesperson stated that police officers from the Ilogbo Division quickly took action immediately they got the information which resulted in the arrest of the 55-year-old suspect.

“The husband doused his wife’s body with petrol and set her on fire with a match. Witnesses to the incident immediately rushed her to the hospital.

“Upon receiving the report, our detectives quickly took action and arrested the husband, who has since been detained.” Odutola said.
