Peter Obi has expressed worry about the direction Nigeria is headed as a democracy, citing the tension in the country and the needless fueling of hardship.
It was gathered that Peter Obi questioned the manner in which VeryDarkMan (VDM) was arrested, suggesting that it was carried out in a way that resembles an abduction rather than a legitimate arrest.
He argued that such actions could create fear and undermine national security, making it difficult for Nigerians to distinguish between legitimate arrests and unlawful abductions.
He recalled that even judges have suffered similar indignities in recent years, which could make ordinary citizens feel unprotected under the law.He noted that such actions could have serious reputational consequences for institutions and undermine investor confidence.

Peter Obi asked whether it was impossible to invite VDM in a civil, transparent, and legal manner, which would have spared Nigerians, GTBank, and the national image unnecessary shame and losses.
He also raised questions about allegations surrounding the adoption of the NANS President, which could erode the independence of student leadership and undermine democracy.
