Plural Health Launches Integrated Digital Solutions for Africa’s Health Sector

Nigerian health technology firm, Plural Health, formerly known as Plateaumed, has unveiled a suite of digital platforms aimed at addressing the deep-rooted fragmentation in Africa’s healthcare systems.

In a recent statement, the company highlighted how disjointed hospital systems, sluggish insurance processing, and inaccessible patient records continue to hamper the continent’s progress toward universal health coverage.

“As African nations work toward inclusive healthcare, the absence of a coordinated digital infrastructure remains a major obstacle,” the company said. “Plural Health is tackling this challenge head-on with a renewed mission and interoperable digital solutions that connect healthcare providers, insurers, governments, and patients.”

Plural Health’s CEO, Dr. Dare Ladejobi, noted that despite a growing number of digital health initiatives across the continent, many providers still operate with standalone software systems that lack the ability to share data or scale effectively.

“This leads to duplicated work, care gaps, inefficient claims processes, and ultimately, poor patient experiences,” he said. “Africa’s problem isn’t the absence of digital tools—it’s the absence of integrated systems. We’re not just creating products; we’re building the digital backbone for smarter, faster, and more equitable care.”

The company’s flagship products include; NeoEHR: An electronic health records system tailored to African healthcare needs, integrating patient records, clinical workflows, inventory management, and payment options directly into care delivery.

NeoInsure: A digital insurance platform that automates claims processing, curbs fraud, and enables low-income and rural populations to enroll through USSD and mobile apps.

myNeo: A mobile app for patients that allows them to manage appointments, view diagnoses, and access lab results and prescriptions across multiple providers.

These platforms are designed to be scalable and interoperable, supporting public health insurance schemes, private HMOs, and hospital networks.

Dr. Ladejobi emphasized that the rebrand from Plateaumed to Plural Health represents more than a name change.

The company has already facilitated over one million patient encounters across more than 60 healthcare facilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Plural also deployed triage tools via WhatsApp, USSD, and IVR to support federal response efforts.

“With this new direction, Plural Health aims to serve as the digital backbone of Africa’s healthcare future—one that not only digitises care but connects it,” he said.
