Police Arraign Parent In Court For Assaulting Private School Teacher In Lagos
A 44-year-old man, identified as Ayofe Kolawole, has been arraigned in court after being involved in an assault on a teacher at Rosebud School, a private institution in Idimu, Lagos State. The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arraignment in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
The incident, which went viral on social media, showed Kolawole assaulting the teacher. According to reports, the altercation occurred because the teacher disciplined Kolawole’s child without his consent. In the video, the enraged father was seen slapping and punching the teacher in front of students.
An X user, Alex Onyia, who shared the video, expressed his concern, stating, “This is a video of a parent at Rosebud School in Idimu, Lagos, beating up a teacher in front of students and even threatening to attack the school owner. Teachers in Nigeria earn very little, but any injustice against them is unacceptable. Police, over to you.”
