Police launch manhunt for killers of three officers in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command says it has begun a manhunt for gunmen who killed three of its officers at a checkpoint in Egbe, a border community between Kogi and Kwara states.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, confirmed the incident in Lokoja, saying it occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.

He explained that the Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, had deployed a tactical squad to the area to track down the perpetrators.

“I can confirm that three officers on duty were killed today in Egbe, a border community with Kwara State. The Commissioner of Police has deployed the tactical team, and we are on the trail of the assailants. They will be arrested,” Aya stated.
