Portable Clinches Victory Over Speed Darlington in Epic Celebrity Boxing Match

Controversial street-hop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed another victory in the boxing ring—this time against fellow musician and social media personality Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington.

The much-anticipated showdown took place at the “Chaos In The Ring” boxing event, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos. The Friday Fight Night series, hosted by Game Rush and Balmoral Promotions, has become a staple in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene, drawing top fighters from countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Egypt, Italy and the UK.

The fiery feud between Portable and Speed Darlington was sparked by a booking disagreement. Speed Darlington reportedly offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at his event—an offer the Zazu crooner found offensive.

“Speed Darlington offered me ₦500,000 to perform, is he mad? He no respect himself,” Portable had said in one of his viral rants before the match. “If you wan fight, go bring Anthony Joshua make I collect ₦100 million. Speed Darlington no reach.”

Despite claiming disinterest in facing Speed Darlington, Portable eventually stepped into the ring and dominated the match, securing a win that further cemented his reputation in the crossover world of celebrity boxing.

The April 18 face-off isn’t Portable’s first. In December 2023, he defeated Nollywood actor Charles Okocha in another high-octane match at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island. That bout settled a heated dispute over a failed ₦40 million deal.

With two victories under his belt, Portable continues to build a name for himself beyond music, becoming a recurring figure in Nigeria’s celebrity boxing circuit.
