A 37-year-old middle-aged woman,who is known as Linda Stephen, has reported a case at Kaduna Customary Court, pleading for dissolution of her marriage due to her husband’s excessive sexual demands.
When they were at the court session on Tuesday, Linda, who lives in Ungwan Sunday, Kaduna, said that her husband, Felix Stephen, always compel her into long time sex, sometimes lasting from midnight until dawn. She however confessed that her refusal to have sex with him had led to physical violence at home.
“I can’t endure this any longer,” she lamented to the court. “He has an uncontrollable sex feeling, and even when I wail and beg him to stop, he would not. I moved out of our home three months ago, but his family keeps begging me to come back, meanwhile,they don’t know what I was passing through in his house.”
Linda reaffirmed that she feared for her well-being, as her husband had repeatedly assaulted her in front of their two children whenever she denied him sex.

In his defense, Felix accepted his actions, and then begged the court to reconcile them.
“I love my wife and don’t want to lose her,” he said. “I have taken my uncles and friends to her family to beg her, but she refuses to listen. I am willing to change and control my sex feeling.”
Presiding over the case, Judge John Dauda adjourned the matter until May 6 to allow room for possible reconciliation, advising both parties to maintain peace while discussions continue.
