Kindly share this story

The Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice has initiated the official procedure to obtain Governor Abdullahi Sule’s consent for the execution of Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, who was convicted of killing Corps Member Salome Adaidu.

According to the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Danladi Isaac, this move follows a ruling by the State High Court in Lafia, which on June 26, 2025, found Ajayi guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging.

Mr. Isaac explained that the convict had a 90-day period to appeal the verdict, but as of September 26, 2025, no appeal had been filed. The ministry’s submission to the governor marks the next legal step required before the death sentence can be implemented.
