Residents of Aduramigba community, a suburb of Osogbo, on Friday blocked the road leading to the community over incessant attacks by armed robbers and alleged harassment by men of the Nigeria Police.
The protesters who spoke with FCNN , said no fewer than 30 phones, a car, laptops and other valuable items were carted away overnight by armed robbers.
The protesters also lamented poor supply of electricity to the community which according to them, aided the incessant robbery attacks in the area.
“We’re tired of this crisis. Today alone, armed robbers stole a car, over 30 phones, laptops and other items. They were knocking on doors and since there is not light, it was difficult to trace them,” one of the protesters identified as Kola said.
As the time our correspondent visited the scene, vehicular movement in and out of the area was not allowed.
Aduramigba community is located in Ido-Osun, Egbedore local government but not far from Osogbo, the state capital.
