Emir of Borgu Promises Fight Against Human Trafficking

The Emir of Borgu, Niger State, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammed Sani Dantoro, has promised to join hands with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in the fight against human trafficking and violence against Persons in the State.
FCNN report that the Royal Father promised to increase awareness on issues of human trafficking in persons among other traditional rulers in Niger State and also ensure vigilance to forestall the activities of traffickers.
This was one of the outcomes of a courtesy visit by the Royal Father on the Director General of NAPTIP, Binta Adamu Bello, OON, at the Agency’s Headquarters, Abuja.
While thanking His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for appointing the Director General, the foremost Traditional ruler who advocated for stringent punishment for offenders, urged the NAPTIP Boss to build upon her impressive antecedent as a performer to further justify the confidence reposed on her by the entire nation.
In her response, Binta Adamu Bello thanked the Royal Father for the visit and assured him that she would never fail the nation.

She also outlined her modest achievements within the short period of assumption of office to include increased prosecution, massive awareness and high-scale enlightenment, robust partnership support, strict policy implementation as well as rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of victims of human trafficking and promised to do more to ensure the protection of Nigerians from all forms of exploitation.
