“The world is changing rapidly, and universities must adapt to prepare future-ready graduates.
We are not just here to diagnose problems. We must envision a radical transformation.”
The lecture, themed “A New Vision for University Education in Nigeria: Rhetorics, Paradox and Metaphor,” explored critical issues such as funding gaps, infrastructure deficits, overcrowded lecture halls, outdated laboratory systems and unresolved staff welfare agreements, all of which have hindered university education in Nigeria.
Prof. Ezemonye emphasized that tackling these challenges with innovative solutions and alternative funding models would be essential to reposition Nigerian universities for global competitiveness.
