RCCG Church Suspends Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello, Deacon Oke Mayowa Over Allegations Of Homosexuality Practices
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has suspended Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa following allegations of homosexual misconduct involving young members of the church. In response, RCCG has assigned the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to conduct a detailed investigation, to be completed within two weeks.
The directive was outlined in an internal memo dated October 28, 2024, with reference number RCCG/NO/s.04/13/vol.1, titled “Investigation and Suspension Regarding Allegations of Homosexuality.” In the memo, the church emphasized that its doctrine strictly prohibits acts of homosexuality. The RCCG National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, signed the document, which was circulated to all national church organs, underscoring the need for the investigation to be handled with care and integrity in alignment with the church’s values.
The memo states: “This serves to inform you of serious allegations of homosexuality against Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa. In line with our commitment to uphold biblical teachings, we must approach these allegations with the utmost gravity.” RCCG further noted that, should these allegations prove substantiated, they constitute criminal offenses under state law, warranting legal consequences if guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt.
Church members and those affected are advised to contact relevant RCCG authorities for any further clarification on the situation.
