Relief in Adamawa as Police Recover Two Missing Children
There was a sense of relief in Adamawa State over the weekend as the police successfully recovered two missing children in Song and Mayo-Belwa Local Government Areas.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, 12-year-old Hamza Abdullahi was found on June 29, 2025, by a Good Samaritan and taken to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Song LGA.
The second child, identified as Idrisu Abdullahi, aged between eight and nine, was located by police on June 28, 2025, in Mayo-Belwa LGA.
Nguroje explained that Hamza claimed to be from Dakoro village in Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State and was found near an IDP camp in Song. Idrisu, on the other hand, said he had traveled from Maiha to Yola with his mother, Amrat Abdullahi, but was later discovered near Mbilla Primary School in Mayo-Belwa.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, appealed to the public for assistance in reuniting the children with their families. He also expressed concern over the neglect of parental responsibilities, which often exposes children to harm and other social risks.
