Reverend Sisters Accuse Priests of Turning Them Into Bedmates

A storm is brewing within the Catholic Church as Rev’d Sr. Kinse Anastasia of Veritas University, Abuja, has gone public with explosive allegations against some priests and church authorities.

In a bold social media post, she accused certain priests of sexually harassing and exploiting Reverend Sisters, reducing them to “ornaments in Habits” and treating them as objects for their pleasure. According to her, some priests openly declare that “Sisters are meant to be priests’ wives” and act on such claims without shame.

Sr. Anastasia further alleged that church leaders often silence victims, leaving Sisters vulnerable and defenseless. She also lamented that some superiors misuse their authority, deepening the cycle of abuse and intimidation.

While calling out these abuses, she equally condemned Sisters who compromise their vows, insisting that such weakness damages the dignity of consecrated life.

Her words were firm and unshaken: “Religious Sisters are not priests’ wives. We are not bedmates. We are women of God. The Church must do better because God is watching.”

Her revelations have ignited widespread outrage, with many demanding that the Catholic Church establish safe and transparent channels for Sisters to report abuse without fear of persecution.
