Scores of people have feared dead and others injured during a petrol tanker explosion around Dikko junction in Gurara local government area of Niger State.
FCNN gathered that the petrol tanker leaked its contents which makes people to rush to scoop the fuel at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, a pregnant woman and another woman with a one week old baby were among those caught in the explosion when the locals scooped fuel.
Officials of the Niger State Fire Service are however battling to quench the fire.
As at the time of filing this report, 30 people have lost their lives in the explosion.
Meanwhile, Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed shock over the tanker explosion, describing it as worrisome, heartbreaking and unfortunate.
He condoled with the families of the victims as well as advise residents to always be responsible and give great important to their safety.
The Governor also directed all the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to do what is necessary in addressing the emergency.
