Plateau Governor Denies Joining APC

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasizing that he remains dedicated to the party’s values and the trust placed in him by the people of Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang’s response came in reaction to a circulating social media post featuring an electronic flex banner with his image, falsely suggesting his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor, through a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, clarified that the banner was displayed in Edo State for reasons yet to be determined.

The statement described the banner as a deliberate falsehood created by certain individuals and executed by mischief-makers with the intent to sow discord between Governor Mutfwang, the PDP leadership, and his supporters.

“While this baseless rumour does not warrant a formal response, it has become necessary to dispel any misconceptions that may mislead the public and to preserve the Governor’s integrity,” the statement read.

Governor Mutfwang reiterated that he has never contemplated leaving the PDP for the APC, stressing that at no time has he discussed switching political parties with anyone. He urged the public to disregard the misinformation and remain confident in his commitment to the PDP and its ideals.
