Seven-Month-Old Baby Dies in Crash Amid Icy Conditions
A seven-month-old baby has tragically died following a crash on the A1, with Lincolnshire Police investigating whether icy conditions contributed to the accident.
The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway near the A52 junction at Grantham around 22:50 GMT on Thursday. A yellow Honda Jazz left the road and collided with a tree.
The baby boy sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away at 05:00 on Friday. A woman traveling in the vehicle also suffered serious injuries, while two other occupants were not seriously hurt.
The southbound carriageway remains closed as police continue their investigation.
Lincolnshire Police stated they are keeping an “open mind” regarding the cause of the collision but noted the possibility of icy conditions being a factor. The boy’s family is being supported by specially-trained officers.
