There’s no active referee fans dislike more than Anthony Taylor, the man behind plenty of mistakes in the Blues’ game.
So, it may come as a vindication for them to learn that Taylor has been demoted to the championship.
According to our news man, the referee has been sanctioned for wrongly awarding a penalty to Newcastle in their 2-2 draw against Wolves.
However, that joy might be short-lived. It turns out that Taylor will only be demoted to the Championship for one weekend.
As a FIFA-listed referee, he’s expected to be back in the sooner rather than later – but at least, it’s a strong message to him to up his game before facing more serious sanctions.
