Sultan Speaks on Moon Sighting


The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has officially announced the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the beginning of Ramadan in Nigeria.

Following the moon sighting, Muslims across the country will observe the first Taraweeh (night) prayers tonight, Friday, 28th February, 2025, while fasting will commence on Saturday, 1st March, 2025.
