Rashidi Ladoja Nominated as 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland

Former Oyo State Governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has been nominated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan-in-Council.

The nomination was proposed by the Balogun Olubadan, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and seconded. by the Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, during a council meeting held at the Oke-Aremo palace.

Oba Ajibola confirmed that all members of the Olubadan-in-Council unanimously endorsed Ladoja’s nomination.

He noted that the council would now forward his name to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for official approval and the planning of the coronation ceremony, where Ladoja will receive the Staff and Certificate of Office.

The development comes after the conclusion of the 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on July 7, 2025, after a one-year reign. Olakulehin had succeeded Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan.
