Notorious Terror Leaders Abu Radde and Umar Black Surrender to Nigerian Troops
Two notorious terror leaders, Abu Radde and Umar Black, have surrendered to troops of Operation FASAN YANMA, the joint military task force combating terrorism and banditry in North West Nigeria.
The surrender, which took place on Sunday, January 19, was confirmed in a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, on Tuesday.
Radde and Black were prominent figures in terror activities across Batsari and Safana Local Government Areas in Katsina State. Their decision to surrender was attributed to the ongoing synchronized air and ground assaults by the task force, which have dismantled several terrorist strongholds and neutralized numerous insurgents.
Maj.-Gen. Buba stated: “During the operations, troops recovered assorted weapons, ammunition, as well as secured the release of 15 hostages held by the terrorists. Troops are nevertheless sustaining the momentum as they continue the hunt for notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji, among others.”

He emphasized the military’s unwavering commitment to eliminating threats posed by terrorists.
“The terrorists either surrender or be buried on the battlefield,” Buba declared.
The military’s continued offensives mark significant progress in the fight against terrorism in the region.
