Police Nab Suspected Kidnappers of Ex-AIG Odumosu’s Wife
Following the directive of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, officers of the Lagos State CP Special Squad have arrested two suspects connected to the abduction of Folashade Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant-Inspector General (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu.
The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were apprehended in the early hours of Friday, January 24, 2025, while attempting to flee Lagos State.
A statement from the Force Headquarters confirmed the arrests:
“The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Friday the 24th of January 2025 while on their way out of Lagos State.
“Upon interrogation, they confessed to their crime; belonging to a gang of 4, 2 of whom have been neutralized previously.
“Recovered from the suspects upon their arrest were the sum of Two Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N2,250,000), which was part of the requested ransom, 2 locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.”
The statement also commended the operatives for their bravery, with IGP Egbetokun urging the police to maintain their dedication to combating crime across Nigeria.
“The IGP commends the police operatives for their gallantry in apprehending these suspects and encourages them to maintain this high standard of competence in the fight against crime in all its manifestations.

The police had earlier reported that two other suspects involved in the kidnapping were killed during a gun battle with officers while attempting to rescue Mrs. Odumosu.
