51-year-old Abia Teacher Dies in Moving Tricycle

The Abia State Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of a 51-year-old woman, Mrs. Emmanuel Love Onuora, who passed away while riding in a commercial tricycle in Aba.

The incident occurred on Tuesday and gained public attention after the woman’s photo began circulating on Facebook, where she was identified by some users as “Aunty Love,” a teacher at a well-known school in Aba.

Police spokesperson, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the development on Thursday. According to her, the deceased boarded a tricycle driven by one Mr. Okechukwu Sunday, an Anambra native residing in Aba, for a routine journey along Aba Road.

During the trip, a second passenger joined the tricycle, but both the rider and the new passenger soon noticed that Mrs. Onuora had become unresponsive.

“The tricycle operator promptly reported the matter to the Area Commander in Aba,” Chinaka said. “Police officers were dispatched to the scene, and the woman was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.”
