Court Orders DNA Test to Determine Paternity of Late Singer Mohbad’s Son
The Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test to determine the paternity of Liam Aloba, the son of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Presiding Magistrate, Adefisoye Sonuga, issued the ruling on Tuesday after considering an application filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba. He had asked the court to mandate a paternity test to confirm whether Liam is indeed his late son’s biological child.
According to the court order, the DNA test must be carried out at an accredited and recognised medical facility, either in Nigeria or abroad. The Chief Medical Officer or Pathologist at the Military Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, where Mohbad’s remains are kept, was also authorised to extract tissue, hair, or other necessary samples for the testing.
