The Niger State Government has distanced itself from a viral list claiming to be its sponsored pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
The government’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, stated this on Thursday that the list is fake and not originated from the government. He accused social media users of spreading false information to discredit government activities and urged the public to verify information from credible sources before sharing.

The government clarified that its policy on sponsoring pilgrims is primarily for health workers, Pilgrims Board officials, and other critical stakeholders to provide assistance and ensure smooth hajj operations, and that such policies are carried out through official channels.
